PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system by which power line carrier communication can be performed more easily, without installing a power line carrier communication apparatus on a pole or stringing a new optical fiber cable. SOLUTION: The system is provided with a PLC (power line carrier communication) user's house 13, where the power line carrier communication is performed by using a distribution line, such as a low voltage distribution line 21, an FTTH (fiber to the home) user's house 10, which is connected to the house 13 via the line 21 and a drop line 22 and into which an optical fiber cable 20 is led, and a PLC modem 11 connected both the line 22 and the cable 20. A PLC user conducts communication by using a spare core cable 20B of the cable 20 via the modem 11 provided in the house 10. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
