PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescence device hardly deteriorating in its light emitting characteristics with time and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: This manufacturing method for the organic electroluminescence device includes a process of preparing a moisture impermeable transparent plate with a metal frame body joined to its circumferential edge and a substrate which is formed by providing a plurality of electrically connecting terminals on the transparent plate with their penetrating through the transparent plate, a process forming an organic electroluminescence laminated body having the organic light emitting material layer and a plurality of electrode layers and connecting each of the electrode layers to each of the electrically connecting terminals, and a process of disposing a metal protective lid on the surface in the side of the substrate where the electroluminescence laminated body is laid with its prevented from contacting with the protection lid and joining the circumferential edge of the protection lid or its adjacent to the metal frame body.
