PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal transmission system capable of smoothly adjusting a timing between nodes interconnected by a transmission line. SOLUTION: The signal transmission system has a master node and a plurality of slave nodes interconnected via the transmission line and uses a lower speed timing adjustment sequence than the speed at data transmission when adjusting the timing between the master node and the slave nodes. Each slave node receives a low speed command from the master node (step 33), establishes the communication state with the master node, and receives high speed pattern data (step 34).
