<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that prevents troubles such as recording-material contamination and electrification failure which are caused by developer charged to the polarity reverse to the normal polarity with which development can be carried out. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus has a recovering roller 14 disposed close to or in contact with a developing roller 10 and capable of carrying toner charged to the polarity reverse to the normal polarity, and a high voltage power source 15 that generates an electric field so that toner charged to the reverse polarity is urged from the developing roller 10 to the recovery roller 14. The recovery roller 14 is disposed further downstream than a restricting blade 12 in the direction of the rotation of the developing roller 10 and further upstream than a position where the drum 1 and the roller 10 are in contact with or close to each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
