PROCESS FOR PRODUCING VINYL CHLORIDE POLYMER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly productive process for producing a vinyl chloride polymer by which a vinyl chloride polymer having a high degree of polymerization can be produced at a high polymerization temperature. SOLUTION: This process for producing a vinyl chloride polymer comprises polymerizing a vinyl chloride monomer in a polymerizer provided with a water jacket type heat removing device wherein a polyfunctional monomer having two or more allyl ether groups is added in an amount of 0.01-0.5 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. vinyl monomer; the polyfunctional monomer having two or more allyl ether groups comprises at least one of trimethylolethane diallyl ether and trimethylolpropane diallyl ether; the polymer has THF-insolubles of 5 wt.% or less; a vinyl chloride polymer having a degree of polymerization of 1,000 or higher is obtained by polymerization at 60°C or higher; and a vinyl chloride polymer having a degree of polymerization of 1,500 or higher is obtained by polymerization at 50°C or higher.
