PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lock device enabling easy and quick locking and unlocking by preventing a locking/unlocking latch from being turned to a locking position because of operating errors. SOLUTION: A slit 14 is formed in a flange 12 at the rear end of an inner cylinder 8 fitted into an outer cylinder 5 at the rear of a mounting case 3 secured to the door 1, to fix a lock body 9 in position. An engagement plate 13 is slidably engaged in the slit 14 as it is energized by a spring 30 in the direction in which the rear end engages each of engagement recesses 21 and 22 on the outer periphery of the base part of the locking/unlocking latch 16 secured to a rotating shaft 15. A push button 32 longitudinally slidable via a spring 37 is disposed in the mounting case 3 between the slit and the engagement plate 13. A wide opening 39 and a narrow opening 40 are arranged respectively in front and rear positions at the rear end of the push button 32. An engagement protrusion 41 detachably locked to an engagement step 25 provided in the engagement plate 13 to move or lock the engagement plate 13 is provided at an internal corner on one side of the wide and narrow openings 39 and 40.
