PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seismically reinforced structure of an existing house and a reinforcing method. SOLUTION: A single-sided braced part of an existing building is converted into a double-sided braced structure where braces 5 and 8 are each connected to a column 2 or beam 4 at both upper and lower ends using brace fixtures 10. Construction work can be easily performed from indoors by removing interior materials and cutting a stud 3. The structure enables the brace fixtures 10 to be used for both the upper and lower ends of each of the braces 5 and 9, thereby increasing the efficiency of construction work. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
