PURPOSE: A snow chain using waste tires is provided to solve some problems for the environmental pollution caused by the waste tires by using the waste tires as a friction member, to reduce the material cost, and to largely reduce the reduction of braking power caused by distortion in traveling by removing the distortion. CONSTITUTION: A snow chain using waste tires is composed of a plurality of pieces(1), an inner connecting member(2a), an annular ring-shape outer connecting member(2b), an inner combining mechanism(3), and an outer combining mechanism(4). The piece is cut along the radial direction of the waste tire to have a constant width. The inner connecting member is rotatively hinge-combined at both sides of the inner edge opposite to the cut piece. The outer connecting member connects a ring inserted into the outer edge of the one cut piece with a ring inserted into the outer edge of the other piece. The inner combining mechanism comprises a rack fixed to the inner edge of the piece at one end of pieces connected in series and formed with gears at the end; a rack combing box fixed to the inner edge of the piece at the other end of the pieces; a fixing pin for passing through the rack combining box and detachably locking the rack to the rack combining box; and a compression spring for elastically biasing the rack locked to the rack combining box by the fixing pin to an initial state. The outer combining mechanism includes bolts fixed to the outer edge of the piece at both ends of the pieces connected in series and a nut for detachably connecting the bolts.
