PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fence for snowy areas resisting bending and damage due to the accumulation of snow. SOLUTION: A flexible fence 1 such as a gauge fence is stretched between a plurality of posts 2 and pulled upwards using a stretching rope 3. The stretching rope 3 is provided with springs 4 in appropriate positions to increase its tensile force. Even if the sinking load of snow is applied to the fence 1, the fence 1 absorbs the load as it is only slightly deflected by the elasticity of the rope 3 and the springs 4.
