1285352 Sweetening food HAYASHIBARA CO 8 July 1969 [8 July 1968] 34473/69 Heading A2B [Also in Divisions C2 and C6] A process for making a sweetened food or beverage comprises incorporating in the food or beverage maltose prepared by adding α-1, 6-glucosidase and #-amylase to a liquefied starch. The starch may be waxy corn starch or potato starch liquefied using an enzyme. In the Examples the maltose is used in the preparation of orange juice, powdered sweeteners, powdered milk suitable, e.g. for infants, canned fish, bottled marron glacÚ, white bean jam and jelly, artificial sake, ice cream, hard candy, canned oranges, boiled fish paste, red and soya bean preparations, minced cuttlefish, pectin and agar jellies, creams, confectionery centres, chocolate and chewing gum. |
