A textile mesh hose knitting machine has needles which release the knitted mesh downwards to a withdrawal unit with an error sensor. The knitting machine (4, 5, 6) has an interface (1, 2, 3) transmitting data to a server (10) which simultaneously monitors the operation of several hose knitting machines. Each hose knitting machine has a machine and/or product data embedded processing unit (25, 26, 27). An Independent claim is given for an operating process in which the server monitors operation of the individual knitting machines. In a further embodiment, local control of the machine remains an option.
