<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a braking device for a vehicle which materializes in a brake-by-wire system an anti-lock control principle that a vehicle is braked by keeping the slip ratio within the constant range without a large fluctuation in the actual wheel peripheral velocity, and by maintaining a high road surfaceμ. <P>SOLUTION: In the braking device for a vehicle, the brake control and anti- lock control of a vehicle are carried out by controlling the thrust force based on the displacement of a brake piston 12 to a brake pad 3.
