RAIN GAUGE USING OPTICAL FIBER AND RAINFALL DATA TRANSMISSION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rainfall data transmission system transmitting rainfall data without being affected by electric noises. SOLUTION: Light emitted from a luminous circuit 31 is propagated clockwise (light path A) and counterclockwise (light path B) to an optical fiber ring 25 through an optical branch coupling element. To the optical fiber ring 25, a rainfall meter 1 capable of adding a vibration at every time a tumble mass tumbles, is placed. By detecting interference light caused in the optical fiber ring 25 by vibration added by the rainfall meter, with a light reception circuit, rainfall data is transmitted. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
