Method for protected downloading of software (IE) to an electronic device, especially a mobile phone with the phone's target environment. The software is downloaded with two functional parts with a checking task implemented in a personal area network (PAN). A security task is also implemented. After the security task is implemented, a transfer task is carried out and the software downloaded. Neither of the functional parts carry out all the tasks. The invention also relates to a corresponding personal area network and computer program product.
