BINDER FOR ELECTROSTATIC IMAGE DEVELOPING TONER

A binder for use in an electrostatic image developing toner which comprises a polyester resin such that at least a part of a carboxyl acid component (a) and/or an alcohol component (b) is a carboxy-modified polyolefin or an optionally hydrogenated hydroxy-terminated polyalkadiene, the polyolefin and polyalkadiene having an aliphatic hydrocarbon group (x) containing 100 to 1,000 carbon atoms; and a toner using the binder. The toner is excellent in the stability of its performance in various circumstances and also is free from troubles owing to the generation of a foul smell from a copier or a printer.
