PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove a waste-liquid treatment means such as a pump used to suck and take out surplus urine removed from a test-paper holder, a waste- liquid storage bottle or the like and to thoroughly simplify and miniaturize an optical test-paper analyzer. SOLUTION: In the analyzer, a sheet of test paper immersed in a liquid sample such as urine or the like so as to be pulled up is supplied to a photometric part in a state that the sheet of test paper is placed on the test-paper holder, and a component in the sample is analyzed optically. A slit is formed in a side face part of a mounting groove of the holder, the surplus liquid stuck to the sheet of test paper is sucked by a capillary phenomenon from the slit so as to be guided to a liquid storage part formed under the mounting groove, and the surplus liquid is absorbed and held by a highly water-absorbing resin housed in the liquid storage part.
