Method has the following steps: recording of 2D projections of the X-ray calibration phantom (20) from different directions; reconstruction of a volume of the phantom from the recorded projections; determination of the coordinates of the markers in both the calibration coordinate system and the position capture system; and determination of a coordinate transformation between the two systems.
