PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide steel tube press-fitting/extracting equipment and a steel tube welding method capable of assuring safety of working and increasing a working efficiency and welding quality on the welding of steel tubes. SOLUTION: In this steel tube press-fitting/extracting equipment 1, a welding machine 14 for welding the lower and upper steel tubes P from a stationary fixed position while the lower steel tubes P rotatingly driven by a chuck part 13 and the upper steel tubes P rotating integrally therewith are being rotated is detachably installed in a boundary part between the lower steel tubes P vertically held on the chuck part 13 for tightening the outer periphery of the steel tubes P and the upper steel tubes P placed thereon when the steel tubes P are press-fitted into a depth exceeding the length of the steel tubes by placing new steel upper steel tubes P on and welding to the upper end surfaces of the lower steel tubes P press-fitted except for a part thereof.
