PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently perform the separating and feeding operations of sheets while satisfying the demand to enhance the feeding speed of sheets without increasing the power of an air blowing means. SOLUTION: This device comprises a sheet stacking means 1 for stacking sheets S; a sheet sending means 2 for successively sending out from the top sheet S1 of a bundle of sheets S stacked on the sheet stacking means 1; the air blowing means 3 having an outlet port 3a opened in opposition to the side surface of the bundle of the stacked sheets S and blowing air from the outlet port 3a toward the side surface of the bundle of sheets S; an air passage moving means 4 for moving up and down an air passage 4a for the air blown from the outlet 3a substantially vertically to the surface of the sheets S; and a control means 5 for changing the moving speed of the air passage 4a by the air passage moving means 4 so as to have a speed change point in the middle of the moving range of the air passage 4a.
