The control valve has a valve housing (1) with a fluid inlet (2) and a fluid outlet (3) connected via a flow channel (4) with a flow-through orifice (9) of given diameter, controlled via a regulating element (10), displaced relative to the orifice via a thermally-controlled actuator (12), acting on the regulating element via a transmission pin (11). The regulating element is displaced into the closed position of the flow-through orifice, independent of the thermally-controlled actuator, e.g. via a bimetallic spring (26).
