for culture vessels in tubular form in which the guide tube for the culture fluid is used to heat this either by voltage applied to the tube as conductor to obtain Joule warmth, or by a resistance wire in the tube, or again by eddy currents produced in the tube by means of an a.c. coil round the glass culture vessel. The tube can also be traversed by a heating medium. Mixing can be further improved by varying the passage section of the tube, and this helps in de-frothing also.
