PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an embedded type sterilizing and deodorizing device which can be provided at low cost at introduction, which has a low cost of maintenance and muffles the operating sound, to reduce the cost of equipment of the facilities requiring sterilization and deodorization, and to provide a comfortable environment to the user using the facilities and improve the degree of user's satisfaction. SOLUTION: Against the embedded type sterilizing and deodorizing means in which a body is embedded in an embedding hole on a ceiling, a wall or a floor, and sterilization and deodorization are executed by a sterilizing and deodorizing means, the body is formed in the shape capable of being embedded so as to correspond to the shape of the embedding hole of an embedded type illumination device disposed on the ceiling. A fixing means for fixing to the embedding hole is provided on the side face of the body. A brim part having an outer periphery larger than the embedding hole is provided. The sterilizing and deodorizing means is formed with an ultraviolet ray lamp and is disposed in the body. A blowing means for moving the air near the ultraviolet ray lamp is disposed in the body.
