PURPOSE:To enhance color forming sensitivity and developed color density and to improve the storage stability of a recording image to enhance practicality by using a specific compd. as a coupler and forming a protective layer based on dimenthylol urea on a thermal color forming layer. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal recording material wherein a thermal color forming layer based on a leuco dye and a coupler allowing the leuco dye to develop a color at the time of heating is provided on a support, as the coupler, at least one kind of a phthalic acid derivative represented by formula is used. Further, a protective layer based on polyvinyl alcohol and an aziridine compd. or dimethylol urea is formed on the thermal color forming layer. By this constitution, the thermal recording material excellent in color forming sensitivity and developed color density, imparting a recording image high in storage stability and high in practicality is obtained. |
