PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contaminated body decontaminating method for efficiently decontaminating the contaminated body the surface and the inside of the minute gaps of which are contaminated with contaminants. SOLUTION: This method is used for decontaminating the contaminated body 1 which is made of a macromolecular material or the like and the surface and the inside of the minute gaps 1a of which are contaminated by contaminants 2 such as a halogenated organic compound. The contaminants 2 stuck to the surface of the body 1 are cleaned by a surface cleaning liquid 3 consisting of an organic solvent (for example, an aliphatic organic solvent, an aromatic organic solvent and a chlorinated organic solvent) having high affinity with the body 1 and the contaminants 2. After that, the contaminants 2 intruding into the gaps 1a of the body 1 are cleaned by an inside cleaning liquid 4 consisting of a low-molecular weight organic solvent (for example, an alcohol- based organic solvent) having high permeability to the gaps 1a.
