PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispose a twist in a process for nipping and transporting transportation articles with a pair of nipping transportation belts, and to automatically adjust the tension of the transportation belts for changing the initial transportation postures of the transportation articles and then releasing the transportation articles. SOLUTION: (1) This twisted nip transportation belt tension adjuster is characterized by forming slide portions 31a on support frames 31 for supporting a pair of the nip transportation belts 10 having twists in the transportation processes in the belts, respectively, and automatically adjusting the tensions of both the belts 10 through elastic members 32 disposed in the slide portions 31a. (2) The tensions of both the belts 10 are controlled by adjusting the lengths of the elastic members 32 disposed in the slide portions 31a, respectively. (3) The length of the elastic members 32 in each slide portion 31a is adjusted with a screw 33, and a window 34 through which the length of the elastic member 32 can visually be checked is disposed in the slide portion 10a to adjust the length of the elastic member 32. (4) The color of the elastic member 32 is different from the color of the slide portion 31a to improve the visibility of the elastic member 32.
