PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an abnormality detector for a guard driving mechanism in which the abnormality of the guard driving mechanism is previously detected. SOLUTION: Detection sections 30, 31 are a device detecting an electric current flowing to driving motors 10, 11. A control section 37 is a general sequencer controlling the various operation of the abnormality detector 29 and comprises a storage section 42 and a determination section 43. The storage section 42 is a memory storing a determination reference for determining whether the guard driving mechanism is in an abnormal state or not. The determination section 43 is a central processing unit (CPU) determining that the guard driving mechanism is in the abnormal state based on the detection result obtained from the detection sections 30, 31. The determination section 43 determines that the guard driving mechanism is in the abnormal state when the value of the current flowing to the driving motors 10, 11 is out of the range of the current value under a normal state and determines that the guard driving mechanism is in a normal state when the value of the current flowing to the driving motors 10, 11 is within the range of the current value under the normal state.
