PURPOSE: A parking brake system of a vehicle is provided to lock or release a parking brake automatically when standing by for a traffic signal. CONSTITUTION: A parking brake system of a vehicle is composed of a cam(57) rotated by a motor to pull or release a brake cable(49) regardless of operations of a parking lever(35); a key switch unit for starting up operations for preheating and starting an engine to operations of a driver; a speed sensor for detecting the traveling speed of the vehicle; a resistance generator for generating a resistance value changed to pedal operations of an accelerator; and a control unit for rotating forward and reverse the motor to lock and release the parking brake to the key operations of the key switch unit, the traveling speed of the speed sensor, and the resistance value of the resistance generator.
