The seat (1), comprising a back (2) and base (3), has a headrest (4) that can be rotated about an axis (5) perpendicular to the plane of the seat back. The headrest is in the shape of a shell, being circular for three quarters of its periphery (40b) with the remainder comprising a projection (40a) that is straight on one side (40c) and curved on the other (40d), the straight side resting against a straight surface on the seat when it is lowered. It is fitted to a projection on the rear of the seat back.
