PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome the problem such that there is no problem if a tank shape of a liquid level detector having a variable resistor 4 linked to a float arm 1 for pivoting in response to a movement of a level of a liquid in a tank T, detecting electrical resistance for changing in response to a pivot movement of the float arm and displaying a remaining quantity of the liquid, has a land scape orientation, but there is a defect that the level of the liquid in the tank is not accurately displayed if the tank shape has a portrait orientation. SOLUTION: Since an auxiliary arm 1b having a float 2 at an end is pivotably attached to a base arm 1a by a pin 1c and an internal angle between the auxiliary arm 1b and the base arm 1a is regulated by an included angle regulation member 5 so as not to become a predetermined angle or less in a structure of the float arm 1 of the liquid level detector, a residual quantity of the liquid in the tank can be accurately displayed on a meter.
