PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner excellent in fluidity and electrification property and excellent in environmental stability from a low temperature and low humidity environment to a high temperature and high humidity environment. SOLUTION: The toner comprising a binder resin, carbon black and an organic metal compound has such features that: the binder resin is a thermoplastic resin essentially comprising a polyester resin; the average primary particle size of the carbon black is 20 to 80 nm; the organic metal compound is an aluminum compound of benzilic acid expressed by formula (1); the toner contains inorganic fine powder having 0.001 to 0.2μm average particle diameter of the primary particles as an external additive; and the weight average diameter of the toner is 4 to 10μm. In formula (1), each of R<SB>1</SB>and R<SB>2</SB>is independently a straight-chain or branched alkyl group, alkenyl group, alkoxy group, halogen atom, nitro group, cyano group, amino group, carboxyl group or hydroxyl group, and m and n represent integers from 0 to 5.
