PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict a variation in the amount of toner on a developer carrier in the widthwise direction of the developer carrier and prevent concentration from varying, in an image forming apparatus that is wide and a developing device used in the image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The developing device has: a conductive toner supply brush roller 74 that rotates and slides in contact with a developing roller 71, thereby supplying one-component non-magnetic developer to the roller 71; and a thin- layered blade, formed of an elastic member which restricts toner on the developing roller. In the developing device, the length in the width direction of the developing roller is 900 mm or longer. The toner supply brush roller is brought into contact with the developing roller at a contact pressure of 0.3 gf/mm or less. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
