PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact damaging device capable of comparatively easily changing damping force and obtaining large damping force. SOLUTION: This damping device comprises a mass body 2, a guide mechanism 3 having a rail 5 for supporting the mass body 2 movably in the horizontal direction, while vertically restricting the mass body 2, an incline track 8 having a top 8a of which the distance from the rail 5 is gradually decreased, and an elastic body 11 mounted between the incline track 8 and the mass body 2, elastically deformed in the vertical direction by the amount corresponding to the distance between the incline track 8 and the mass body 2, and generating elastic force acting on the mass body 2 and the incline track 8.
