The present invention relates to a seabed instrument which is actuated by an underwater craft which comes into contact with it when it comes to rest on the seabed. The fundamental concept is that a cheap but long-lasting seabed instrument will split into two parts when subjected to external influence of sufficient nature. The one part then floats up to the surface and there transmits a signal to the surrounding world indicating that the seabed instrument has been subjected to the said influence. <IMAGE> |
