PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a core material for a breast cup, preventing 'piercing through', i.e. projection of the core material from a piercing hole, since if the core material attached at the piecing hole is forced to pierce through the cloth at the piercing hole, the fibers of the cloth at the piercing hole is caught with a recessed part to secure the core material in the piercing hole, and also since the shapes of a tip end part positioning at a lateral side and another tip end part positioned at the breast side are different, it is easily distinguished which one is the lateral side and which one is the breast side at a glance without performing a tip end treatment such as coating or covering caps having different colors. SOLUTION: This core material is inserted through the piercing hole formed as a bag shape at the lower side peripheral part of a breast cup, and is characterized by having the tip end part positioned at the lateral side of the core material having a recessed part cutting into depth from its end edge part and projections at its both sides, and also having the almost the same sizes in both of the recessed part and the projections positioned at both ends of it.
