PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state image pickup device using a MOS-type sensor by which an influence in crosstalk can be suppressed without adding current consumption and a manufacturing process. SOLUTION: The solid-state image pickup device is provided with: a photoelectric conversion block 50 consisting of a plurality of photoelectric conversion parts; a vertical shift register 1 for outputting an output pulse for selecting a prescribed photoelectric conversion part; a vertical buffer circuit block 10 for driving an operation control line corresponding to the prescribed photoelectric conversion part by using a boot strap effect with the output pulse as an input signal; and a switch circuit block 30 which switches an operation control line to a ground potential and a floating state according to the output pulse. Thus, the solid-state image pickup device previously grounds all the operation control lines by using the switch circuit block, turns only an operation control line corresponding to the photoelectric conversion part selected by the output pulse into a floating state, and thereafter outputs a signal generated by the photoelectric conversion part by using an output signal from the buffer circuit block.
