An isolated antigenic Porphorymonas gingivalis polypeptide comprises the sequence shown in SEQ ID NO: 366, 411, 414, 419, 421, 422, 424-426, 432, 434, 437, 438, 441- 449, 451-455, 459, 463, 464, 467-474, 476-486, 488-497, 502- 514, 518-524 and 527. Also described are DNA molecules that encode the polypeptides, vectors, isolated cells comprising the vector and antibodies raised against the polypeptides. A composition comprising at least on the polypeptide can be used in the manufacture of a medicament for using in raising an immune response directed against P. gingivalis or treating a subject with a P. gingivalis infection.
