A system for joining two members together such that a first surface of a first member abuts a second surface of a second member in a predetermined relative alignment, said system including: first and second members each provided with a recess in the form of an elongate channel portion, the channel portions being accessible from the first and second surfaces respectively; and an elongate joining device; wherein the joining device is engagable in the channel portions, the joining device includes a body portion resiliently deformable in a direction substantially transverse of the body portion, and an area defined by an external perimeter of a transverse cross section of the joining device corresponds substantially in shape and size with an area defined by a transverse cross section of a channel portion; the arrangement being such that when the channel portions of the first and second members are orientated in longitudinal alignment with each other and the joining device is inserted into the channel portions of the first and second members, the body portion is deformed in the transverse direction and thereby frictionally restricts disengagement of the joining device from the channel portions.
