摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus by which the concentration of molten salt incorporated in electrolytic magnesium which causes the diminishing of yield of sponge titanium is reduced in the manufacturing method of sponge titanium by the reduction of titanium tetrachloride by electrolytic magnesium. <P>SOLUTION: Before magnesium taken out from a molten salt electrolytic cell in an electrolysis process is supplied to a titanium tetrachloride reduction furnace in a reduction process, the electrolytic magnesium is transported to a heat insulation furnace for magnesium in a preservation process in a molten state and incorporated magnesium chloride molten salt is settled by the difference of specific gravity in the heat insulation furnace to be separated from the electrolytic magnesium.
