PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the worsening of a riding feeling on a bicycle when getting a given oil pressure guarantee function by providing a free piston situated in a reservoir chamber in a front fork. SOLUTION: In a front fork where a damper D is provided at a shaft center with a suspension spring S situated and pressure in a damper during the extension and contraction of the damper D is guaranteed by a free piston 4 situated in oil in an inside reservoir chamber R, an annular gap A serving as a flow passage is formed between the inner periphery of the free piston 4 formed in an annular shape in which a piston rod 2 is inserted and of which the damper D is composed at a shaft center and the outer periphery of the piston rod 2. The front fork is provided with a port 4a vertically bored through a thickness and enabling the communication of the upper and lower sides and a check valve 41 liftably held on the lower end side and closing the port 4a upon lifting.
