Secure transmission and installation of an application

Various systems and methods, as well as programs embodied in a computer readable medium are provided for secure transmission of an application for installation on a computer system. To accomplish the secure transmission, an application identifier is provided that is associated with the application. A secure request is transmitted to a installation server for a uniform resource identifier associated with the application to be installed on the computer system. The secure request includes the application identifier. A secure response is received from the installation server that includes the uniform resource identifier. A request is transmitted to an application server to download the application stored thereon and the application is received from the application server.
