A radial-air-gap induction motor is constituted so as to have a tow-layer air gap by setting a rotor between a cylindrical outer stator and inner stator in order to improve an efficiency by increasing the ratio of torque/(square of current) by a two-layer air-gap structure, apply a winding for generating a rotating magnetic field to the outer and inner stators, and form a squirrel-cage winding on the rotor.
