PURPOSE: A dot printer is provided to reduce noise, to prevent damage of a needle and a supporting plate, and generation of spark. CONSTITUTION: A printer head(100) is mounted to a chassis(200) to be fixed to a printer body in such a manner that the printer head reciprocate in the chassis. The chassis has guiding rods(221,222) for supporting the printer head is such a manner that the chassis reciprocate is the printer head; a rotary cam(230) allowing a part of the printer head to reciprocate from side to side; a head transfer motor(210) rotating the rotary cam; a paper feeding motor(240) feeding paper(300) between the printer head and a supporting plate(250), all of which are installed thereon. A shock absorbing sheet(400) is attached on the supporting plate to absorb shock due to strike of a needle of the printer head. The shock absorbing sheet is made of urethane foam or rubber. The shock absorbing sheet absorbs shock due to the needle to reduce noise and to prevent damage of the needle and the supporting plate. The needle strikes the shock absorbing sheet even when the paper is not fed due to malfunction caused by erroneous printing signal to prevent generation of spark.
