PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moisture absorbent which has a high moisture absorption capacity, can perform rapid moisture uptake and discharge, and can be used repeatedly. SOLUTION: The porous moisture absorbent is composed of a porous carrier having a pore diameter of≥5 nm and a pore volume of 0.1-10 ml/g, and an inorganic compound having≤15 mmHg saturated steam pressure of its 10 mol/kg aqueous solution at 25°C.
