<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a palladium-bearing catalyst excellent in chemical resistance and pulverization resistance and having a high reactivity in a method for producing a carboxylic acid ester from an aldehyde and an alcohol in the presence of oxygen, and to produce a carboxylic acid ester at a high yield stably for a long duration by using the catalyst with a scarce deterioration of the catalyst. <P>SOLUTION: The palladium-bearing catalyst is used as a catalyst for producing the carboxylic acid ester and a compounded oxide containing three elements; zirconium, silicon, and aluminum, or four elements, magnesium in addition to the three elements, is used as the catalyst carrier. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
