<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant crash protection device capable of bringing deceleration acted on an occupant at collision close to an ideal value. <P>SOLUTION: A chassis 1 and a vehicular part 2 are relatively moved in a vehicular back-and-forth direction, and the chassis 1 is made to retract by receiving a collision load from a front side. A retractor 7 is moved by the movement of the collision, thereby pulling a seat belt restraining the occupant. A deceleration pattern suitable for reducing occupant deceleration can be generated on the seat belt, and even when vehicular deforming amount is smaller than ever, the maximum deceleration of the occupant can be effectively reduced. The moving amount of the occupant in a vehicle compartment can be reduced as compared with a conventional structure, so that the possibility of a secondary collision can be reduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
