PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the improved quality brought by the reduction of bubbles and interposed materials brought inside a cast slab and the reduction of entrapment of a powder by suppressing a down flow along a short side of a mold and a meniscus up flow in continuous casting. SOLUTION: A nozzle 1 for continuous casting has a flowing passage 1a of molten steel in the center part of a refractory, a tube with a bottom having a porous refractory 2 for blowing inert gas inside the flowing passage, and a plurality of round or elliptical discharge ports 3 for discharging the molten steel to the tip part of the tube. In the immersion nozzle, a narrow flowing passage 1b in which a part is narrowed is formed in the passage of the molten steel, and the center of the narrow passage is decentered from the center part of the tube.
