PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely draw the scribing line of the outline of an image display panel without forming an excess cut-off part in a scribing apparatus. SOLUTION: When an angle correcting roller 7 plunges into a glass substrate 20, the plunge angle of the roller 7 is corrected by an oscillation mechanism 13 so that the direction of an edge 1 coincides with a traveling axis in traveling. The roller 7 is made to travel on the substrate 20 so that the scribing line forming the outline corresponding to the image display panel can be drawn on the substrate 20 without forming a cut-off part.
