<p>FIELD: production of wood panels, preferably, wood fiber slabs. SUBSTANCE: method involves alternatively processing slabs with vacuum and steam, with vacuum processing including one or several cycles of processing in hermetically sealed chamber with following supplying of hot steam. Wood fiber slab swelling coefficient is about 5% after 24-hour cold wetting process and about 20% after 2-hour boiling process.
