<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data storage device for preventing mismatching of stored data and its management information caused when a storage medium is unloaded from an apparatus during storage processing before completing writing of the management information. <P>SOLUTION: When opening of a cover as processing before unloading the storage medium is detected, an overall controller 21 limits effective data to be stored in the storage medium to frames that have been stored in a temporary storage medium SRAM 15 (For a normal stop operation, effective data are limited to frames of data under encode processing). With a smaller amount of the effective data, writing of the management information, performed after data are written, ends sooner to complete writing of the management information before the medium is taken out. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
