PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording and reproducing device for easily retrieving a recording medium to which a user desires to perform recording and reproduction. SOLUTION: This recording and reproducing device is equipped with: a nonvolatile memory 52 which is constituted to be attachable and detachable to and from a main body of the recording and reproducing device and stores disk retrieving information for each optical disk D; and a display panel P displaying disk retrieving information in the connected nonvolatile memory 52.
